Stay Warm without Sacrificing Style

Winter tips for Cleveland fashion

Winter has finally arrived in Northeast Ohio, and it's time to bundle up. But just because it's cold doesn't mean you have to ditch your sense of style. We talked to some of our local stylemakers for their advice on staying warm, stylishly. Here's what they had to say:

"Invest in [quality] fabrics like leather and wool - that's how you stay warm. [On her go-to outfit for winter] I like a tunic with a side split, black skinny jeans, heeled Chelsea boots, a holographic bag, and a longtail wool coat."

- Victoria Cohen, Westlake senior who competed on Project Runway Junior

"My tip is to layer, layer, layer, and add a little sparkle!"

Shibani Faehnleowner of Bombay Taxi

"Buy natural fibers like wool or apaca, ones that breathe when you walk; they'll last longer. Wool wicks away moisture; you can be soaking wet in wool and still be warm."

- Jennifer Marks, owner of Makers by J. Marks boutique

"Layering is always good advice, especially here in Cleveland where our weather can be unpredictable. But here’s the secret to not sacrificing style: as long as everything coordinates, it will look adorable."

- Abby and Elle, bloggers at Abby & Elle Upstairs Fashion & Design
