Conserving Costumes From Gone With the Wind

The Kent State University Museum will present a lecture by Cara Varnell, an art conservator who specializes in textiles with a focus on historical dress. Varnell will give a free, public lecture on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 2:30 p.m. in the museum’s Murphy Auditorium. The museum is located on the campus of Kent State University at 515 Hilltop Drive, on the corner of Main and South Lincoln streets in Kent. Free parking is available.

The lecture, titled “Frankly, My Dear, We DO Give a Damn: Conserving Costumes From Gone With the Wind,” will be followed by a complimentary dessert reception in the Schweigert Library, located on the second floor of the museum. Entry into the museum will be complimentary. Guests are asked to make a reservation for the lecture and dessert reception by calling 330-672-0300 by Oct. 16.
