Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage and Screen Opening Tea Reception

The Katharine Hepburn Dressed for Stage and Screen exhibition is returning to the Kent State University Museum after traveling around the country for the past seven years. The exhibition, opening Feb. 2 and running through Sept. 2, 2018, last appeared in the museum in 2010. Kent State University Museum Director Jean Druesedow is the curator of the exhibition.

The unique exhibition will display performance costumes from the stage productions of The Philadelphia StoryWithout Love and Coco, and classic films such as Adam’s RibStage Door and Long Day’s Journey Into Night, and many of her television movies including Love Among the Ruins. Additionally, Hepburn’s “signature look,” an ensemble of tailored beige trousers and linen jackets, will be featured along with vintage posters, playbills, photos and other related artifacts that illustrate Hepburn’s 66-year career.

The exhibition opens Feb. 2 with an opening tea reception and media preview from 2-4 p.m.

The Kent State University Museum is located at 515 Hilltop Drive, at the corner of East Main Street and South Lincoln Street in Kent. The museum is open to the public on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-4:45 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m.-8:45 p.m.; and Sunday from noon-4:45 p.m. For more information, call 330-672-3450 or visit www.kent.edu/museum.

The cost to attend the opening tea reception and media preview is $15. Call 330-672-3450 to reserve. Museum admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for children under 18. The museum is free with a Kent State ID and free to the public on Sunday.
