Join Kent State University’s Fashion School for Dress Up for Downs from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Kent Student Center Ballroom, located at 1075 Risman Drive in Kent. Dress Up for Downs aims to bridge the gap between the fashion community and the Down syndrome community by creating clothing, funds and relationships.
Every year, the Fashion School hosts a show where all of the models are individuals with Down syndrome. They help design the garments they want to wear in the show, and all the profits are donated to The Upside of Downs of Northeast Ohio. The fashion show is unlike any other because of the focus on empowering the models; it is lighthearted and fun but professional.
