Blogger spotlight: Someone Like You

Lauren Pfieffer, the blogger behind Someone Like You, is originally from Mansfield, but is currently studying Fashion Merchandising at Kent State University. She enjoys writing and loves fashion because it’s a way to express herself in a way she can’t with words.

Blogger spotlight: Glitter or Gold

Marissa Centofanti is a blogger I met at a local fashion event, and I knew she would be great for our series of blogger profiles. She is a young professional working in downtown Cleveland and started her blog Glitter or Gold as a creative outlet to write about her two favorite things beauty and fashion.

Blogger spotlight: Sharing My Sole

I recently came across Jaclyn Schler’s blog Sharing My Sole and thought she would be great for the series. The local blogger earned her undergraduate degree in Marketing from the University of Dayton and now works in advertising. She loves her dog Potsie, yoga, and traveling.

Blogger spotlight: Sugar and Chiffon

I met up with local blogger and recent law school graduate Katy Hanawait, whose blog Sugar and Chiffon offers great style advice as well as tasty recipes! Although she is from Stillwater, Oklahoma, over the past seven years she has made Cleveland her home. When I met up with her, she was rocking her favorite trends: a faux fur vest and red lip (she actually inspired me to try the red lip trend and I love it as well!). We discussed gift giving ideas, shopping, and her obsession with Martha Stewart!

Blogger spotlight: Blog - The New Black

Nadine Nocero began her blog, Blog - The New Black, in 2009 when the phrase “the new black” was used frequently to describe a new trend and when blogging was somewhat of a new platform.

Blogger spotlight: CLEfashionista

I had the pleasure of interviewing local fashion blogger Rachel Kerr, whose blog CLEfashionista showcases her passion for fashion and Cleveland. Not only did I meet a cool new fashion friend, but she also introduced me to Erie Island Coffee, a cute little coffee shop on East 4th downtown - which is what her blog is all about, trends that girls who love fashion want to wear, combined with acquainting readers with all Cleveland has to offer!

Brains & Beauty

Cleveland native Kelly A. Dobos MS is making her mark on the beauty world, both as a Cosmetic Chemist in the Skin Beauty Research Lab at Kao USA and creator of Jergens Natural Glow and Protect. We had the opportunity to talk to Dobos about her background, her line of work and what her influences are.

Beauty and the basics

Style Inc. works to dispel the notion that personal stylists cater only to the fabulously wealthy - everyone deserves to look great, even on a budget. We spoke with founder Julie Leddy to find out how anyone can benefit from a personal stylist.

Vintage inspiration

On most Saturday afternoons, Marie Albano DDS can be found at the Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood, dancing to her own distinctive beat. We caught up with her as she was getting ready to ride off in her 2009 laser jet blue Corvette. The vintage textile, clothing and accessory collector, known as “fashion diva” to her friends, was dressed for versatility and style.
