The Cleveland Women's Show

The second annual Cleveland Women's Show was held at the I-X Center last weekend, and a large part of the event was devoted to fashion. Here are some highlights of the designs that were tearing up the runway:

Sip & Stroll

On the second Thursday of every month (until September) from 5-8 p.m., the boutiques in Old Detroit open their doors to an event called Sip & Stroll. It is a nice way to advertise their stores and spice up shopping in Old Detroit with a glass of wine. The crowds vary from start to finish, and the shoppers seem to enjoy the mood the event brings.

The first day of Made in the 216 at Room Service was a success, which carried into the second day. The day kicked off with the sun shining as onlookers admired the works of local art.

Made in the 216

The one-of-a-kind, creative Cleveland showcase Made in the 216 kicked off in style on Friday, June 26 at 4 p.m. sharp. The Gordon Square Arts District of Detroit Road filled quickly with eager and artsy supporters interested in checking out the extensive selection of products that were featured by local designers.

Evolved Nightlife and Fashion Experience

Local fashion was the focus at the Evolved Nightlife and Fashion Experience held on June 20, 2009, at Silk. The event, presented by Fabiola Productions and Place2Bseen.com, featured four collections by Cleveland-area designers and pieces currently being sold at Style Lounge.

Art in the Village

Art in the Village was held at Legacy Village on June 6 and 7, 2009, and the event attracted a large crowd of shoppers. Attendees perused booths of paintings, photography pieces, jewelry, apparel and more.

Fashion Feud

The Scion-sponsored Fashion Feud took place on Monday, May 18, at the Grog Shop in Coventry. Competing for the grand prize of $400 were designers Valerie Mayen and Jillian Young.

Fashion Week highlight: Jessica Goodworth, Dariana Delgado and Chelsea Mannion

Jessica Goodworth and Dariana Delgado, two of the celebrity models in the Celebrity Cleveland Style show, and Chelsea Mannion, a long-time Fashion Week Cleveland volunteer, were kind enough to sit down with me after the show to talk about the show, modeling and fashion in Cleveland:

Celebrity Style Cleveland's Retail Showcase, presented by Beachwood Place, took place aboard the Nautica Queen on Sunday night, May 3.

unclothed: A Mixed Media Runway Event

unclothed: A Mixed Media Runway Event was held Saturday, May 2, at Metropolis. The raw, urban chic atmosphere of the club complemented the unique looks presented by eight designers. From ruffles to skin-tight bodysuits, logo-imprinted dresses to barely-there shorts, an enormous variety of styles was presented.
