Salon invites customers to let loose

Tucked away in what once was a small house along Kent's Main Street is the salon Cuttin’ Loose. Behind its unassuming exterior is a full-service day spa offering complete hair care service, facials, waxing, massages and a spray tan machine.

The store's owner, Sandra Brothers, founded Cuttin’ Loose 25 years ago. She had always wanted to open a salon and thought this was the perfect location, considering all of the potential business she would receive from local Kent State University students.

Cuttin’ Loose is an Aveda Salon, which means it carries a full line of Aveda products ranging from skincare to hair care.

“We use Aveda because I believe in the brand, and it’s what the customers want,” Brothers says. Not many salons in the Kent area offer this high-end brand, and the fact that Cuttin’ Loose supplies it is a great benefit. The salon also uses and sells products from KenraCrewNoixin and OPI.

Despite the state of the economy, Cuttin' Loose has a loyal client base not willing to skimp on personal wellness.

“Everywhere has been hit by the downfall of the economy, but our loyal customers who have been coming to us for years are keeping us going,” said Brothers.

Cuttin' Loose's web site offers coupons and specials to service all customers. The members of the staff are listed, and their credentials say it all. Any hair salon with a full-time massage therapist is definitely something to be recognized.
