Running of the Brides 2010

On Friday, Aug. 27, brides-to-be lined up outside of Filene's Basement in Warrensville Heights for the store's annual Running of the Brides event. More than 1,000 wedding gowns waited inside the store for them. Originally priced up to $9,000, the dresses were marked down to $249, $499 and $699.

Fashion for a good cause

"Evolution: Flashing Forward From Modern to Futuristic Fashion" was held on Saturday, July 17, at Anatomy, where a full house enjoyed the fabulous designs of Virginia Marti College of Art and Design students and graduates. Each collection was themed to fit a particular era, from the 1940s on.

The bridal boutique Something White hosted a fabulous - yet intimate-feeling - soiree on Thurs., July 8, to celebrate the store's grand opening.

Fashion Week Cleveland 2010 kicks off

Fashion Week Cleveland 2010 kicked off on Saturday, June 5, with a series of speakers at the Western Reserve Historical Society. The topic: the influence of military on fashion.

A focus on felt fashion

Akron native T.J. Horst showed off his latest collection for Horst Couture Friday night at MOCA. The event was sponsored by FLASH and The Fashion Group International.

Cleveland Rocks for Haiti

Cleveland Rocks for Haiti, a stylishly charitable event, was held at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum on Saturday, Feb. 27. The event was sponsored by Fashion for Haiti and organized by Cleveland City Councilman Zack Reed. Proceeds benefited relief efforts in Haiti

Coats & Clark Design Challenge

Thirty fashion students from Kent State University designed, cut, stitched, knitted, quilted and dyed their way through the weekend in a Project Runway-style design challenge. The Second Annual Coats & Clark Design Challenge officially began on Friday, Jan. 29 at 5 p.m. and culminated with an award presentation late in the afternoon on Sunday, Jan. 31.
