Celebrity makeup artist and MAC Cosmetics Senior Artist Michelle Clark was kind enough to sit down with us for a few minutes during her visit to the Crocker Park MAC Cosmetics store to talk about upcoming makeup trends. Here's what you need to know to stay ahead of the curve:
- Get ready for gloss makeup to be big in everything, from lips to nails. The shinier, the better.
- Color-wise, lighter shades - or washes - of colors are going to start popping up everywhere. Keep an eye out for soft colors, like shades of peach, being used on the cheeks and lips.
- Monochromatic palettes are going to gain popularity as well. If you find a color that works well for your lips, try to find a different shade of the same color for your eyes.
- Generally speaking, beauty trends start in Europe, says Michelle. If you want to predict what's going to be the next big thing in the US, take a look at what European trendsetters are doing now.
