At Ohio Station Outlets (formerly Lodi Station Outlets), among the Levi’s Outlet, Gap Factory, and other national brands, lies an unexpected - but welcome - surprise: Owl Eyes on You.
Owl Eyes on You is a local boutique offering a robust selection of women’s clothing and accessories. Mother-and-daughter team Wendy Zisko and Allison Tincher originally opened their store in November 2013 in Medina, but moved to their current location - a larger space - in April of this year.
So far, “it’s going great,” said Allison. She and her mother enjoy working in the store together and “meeting new people and making a personal connection with our customers.”
Additionally, “We love finding unique pieces for people,” Allison said.
The mother-and-daughter duo bonded over shopping trips while Allison was growing up. “We both love shopping, obviously,” she said, so opening a boutique together was a natural move. “I’ve always loved the thrill of, ‘What does this cute little boutique have?’”
It is important to the pair that their boutique offers unique and affordable items. In addition to the already-affordable prices, Owl Eyes on You has new sales every week, which are shared via its Facebook page.
The owl theme is not only apparent in the store’s name but also throughout the store itself - in the decor and items available for purchase. So what is it about the birds appeals to Wendy and Allison? “Owls have always been in our family,” Allison said. “I grew up down the road from the Medina Raptor Center,” a local wildlife rehabilitation clinic for birds of prey.
The boutique is not only a shopping destination, but also regularly hosts events like paint parties and fundraisers for various charities, like Save Ohio Strays (which was there a few weeks ago) and the aformentioned Medina Raptor Center (which will be the beneficiary of a fundraiser on September 24.) It offers myriad discounts in addition to the weekly sales, like Tuesday Senior Discount Days and 20% for military personnel and college students.
Wendy and Allison plan to expand their reach further in the future; they plan on opening an online boutique at the end of August.
Owl Eyes on You is located in Ohio Station Outlets at 9911 Avon Lake Rd., #160, Burbank, Ohio, 44214, and is open Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
