Spotlight: Diary of an Undercover Fashionista

Diary of an Undercover Fashionista, Ohio fashion blogger

Marcia Craggett is the local blogger behind Diary of an Undercover Fashionista. She began her blog as a creative outlet and has found it a valuable way to connect with like-minded, fashion-forward, plus-size women. Craggett was kind enough to answer some questions for us about blogging, fashion and finding inspiration.

You've been blogging for quite some time. What made you decide to start blogging?

I was a fashion school drop out, in a rut. I wanted to still utilize my interest in fashion by connecting with other plus-size women who were also stylish and into clothing like me.

What advice would you give to someone just starting a lifestyle or fashion blog?

I know this will sound a little cliche, but I would say "just go for it." When I was trying to start my blog, this was the advice that was given to me. Also, don't try to be perfect. I found through the course of blogging that people respect honesty. Just think, behind every good brand there's a human story that people connect with.

Where do you find inspiration for your posts?

My life! I use what I have been through or am going through as inspiration. I use my shopping experiences to tell the story behind my clothing choices.

How would you describe your personal style?

Well it depends on my mood. Sometimes it's a little tomboyish, sometimes it's Vava Voom bombshell-ish and other times it's a little rocker chic. I just make sure that whatever it is, it's done tastefully.

What is the best piece of style advice you've ever received?

As a plus size women the best advice I would give is to invest in good undergarments. If the foundation isn't right, the outfit will fall flat. This advice can also be translated into the way you live your life.
